Try Out UTeach
Have you considered a career teaching math, science, or computer science? Try it out with UTeach Columbus! Our innovative program brings together CSU students, CSU math, science, ans computer science faculty, and educators from local P-12 schools.
As a UTeach participant, you’ll explore teaching first-hand, learn valuable teaching skills, and develop a deeper understanding of math and science. Columbus State faculty members and educational mentors guide you through every step of the program. Financial support is available through a variety of internships, loans, grants, and scholarships.
At the end of your UTeach experience, you’ll earn an undergraduate degree from CSU in biology, chemistry, earth and space science, mathematics, or computer science. After passing required state certification exams, you’ll be qualified to teach in grades 6-12 (for math and science) or in grades P-12 (for computer science).

Enroll in UTCH 1201 Step 1: Inquiry Approaches to Teaching and try out teaching. You will obtain first-hand experience with planning and teaching inquiry-based math, science, or computer science lessons in elementary classrooms. A veteran classroom teacher will guide and mentor you through this entire experience.
Take advantage of lots of personal and financial support
Personal support is provided throughout the program by master teachers (CSU faculty members who are experienced secondary math or science teachers), mentor teachers (local K-12 teachers) and UTeach Columbus faculty.
Financial support is available through federal loans, grants, scholarships and internships.
