Try out teaching by enrolling in Step 1 and then Step 2. Upon completion of these courses, we will reimburse you for your in-state tuition!
Step 1: Inquiry Approaches to Teaching (1 credit hour)
In Step 1, you will obtain firsthand experience with planning and teaching inquiry-based math or science lessons in elementary classrooms. A veteran classroom teacher will guide and mentor you through this entire experience.
Step 2: Inquiry-Based Lesson Design (1 credit hour)
In Step 2, you will build on lesson planning skills developed in Step 1 and become familiar with the middle school environment. You will observe middle school culture and teach several lessons to a middle school math or science class. As in Step 1, you will have guidance from a veteran classroom teacher as you plan and teach your lessons.
